Preview: Women's Golf Fall Season Begins at ODU's Champions of Women's Golf Classic

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's golf team will open the 2021 fall season this weekend at Ohio Dominican University's Champions of Women's Golf Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The two-day competition will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18 and Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at Champions Golf Course. 

The format for this weekend's golf classic includes a 36 Hole Stroke Play, and both a Team and Individual Championship. The Classic kicks off with a split tee start for Rounds 1 and 2 on Saturday and Sunday. The Champions Golf Course is a par 70 and plays 5626 yards. 

The Lakers will be represented by a mix of returners and newcomers this weekend. Senior Alyshia Suleman, junior Julia Vess and sophomore Marie Mathieu will be looked upon by Head Coach Tony Crisp to lead the Lakers. Newcomers Mati Wieland and Jesse Hellebuyck will both be making their Laker debut this week at the ODU competition.
