Strength and Conditioning Facilities 

The Lake Superior State University Athletic Department utilizes a pair of weight rooms that are located in the James Norris Center for student-athletes to use to further their athletic career and collegiate experience as a Laker. The weight room in the Taffy Abel Arena is used by the university's Division I men's ice hockey program while the facility in the Norris Center is dedicated to the university's 11 Division II teams (men's and women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track & field, and women's volleyball). Highlights of both facilities are listed below: 

Norris Center Weight Room:
o Six Rogue half racks and two Rogue collegiate full racks
o Four EliteFTS Safety Bars, Swiss Bars and Trap Bars
o Two dumbbell racks ranging with weights from five to 120 pounds & 10 adjustable benches
o KettlebellsBattle Ropes and Resistance Bands from Kettlebell Kings


Taffy Abel Weight Room:
o Five EliteFTS half racks with five adjustable benches
o Five EliteFTS Safety Bars, Swiss Bars, and Trap Bars
o Two dumbbell racks ranging with weights from five to 120 pounds
o KettlebellsBattle Ropes and Resistance Bands from Kettlebell Kings
o Features a separate cardio room and performance station
