Preview: Laker Track & Field Set to Compete in the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's and women's track and field teams will be represented by a number of athletes at this weekend's Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic, hosted by Bucknell University, on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15 in Lewisburg, Penn. 

Freshman Jayda Williams will open the competition for the Lakers as she is set to compete in the women's long jump event. The women's long jump will begin following the conclusion of the men's long jump, which is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start. 

At 1:15 p.m., the women's discus competition will take place and the Lakers will be represented by Bethany Wilson. Noah Murray will be the next Laker to compete as he will partake in the men's pole vault competition at 2:30 p.m.

The final event for the Lakers on Friday will be the men's invitational 10k race which senior distance runner David Mitter will be competing in. The run is set for a 10:40 p.m. start on Friday night. 

Jenna Fleming will open the schedule for the Lakers on Saturday as she competes in the women's javelin event at 10:00 a.m. Fleming enters the weekend holding the best mark in the GLIAC in the women's javelin this season. 

The final event for the Lakers at the Bucknell Bison Classic will be the men's 110 meter hurdles. Andrew Giddens will represent the Lakers in the race.
