Dani Filipek enters her second year back at LSSU as an assistant cross country/track and field coach in the 2023-24 season after a brief stint with the programs in 2018.

Filipek was a former All-American at Northwood University in the 5,000 meter indoors event, won the 2017 USA 50 mile, and was an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the marathon.

Filipek brings additional coaching experience from Cleary University, Lansing Community College, Romeo Middle School, and the Hansons Running Shop Tuesday Night Speed Sessions for adults.
