Cote Named GLIAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week After 3-0 Showing at No. 1 Singles

BAY CITY, Mich. – True freshman Marilou Cote (Levis, Quebec) has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Cote had a strong individual showing at the 2023 PTR Spring Tennis Fest, going a perfect 3-0 at the No. 1 singles position while also picking up a 6-2 victory over the top doubles tandem from Augusta and narrowly fell 5-7 against the No. 42nd ranked doubles team in Barton's Irma Granstam and Tilde Howeler while teaming up with fellow freshman Valentina Parodi (Albissola Marina, Italy).

Cote is currently on a five-match win-streak in singles play, exclusively at the No. 1 singles spot, and she will be looking to extend that mark to six on Saturday, March 18 when the Lakers travel to face Michigan Tech to open conference play with the first serve scheduled for 10 a.m.
