Women's tennis falls 8-1 at home against Tiffin

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.- Lake Superior State women's tennis fell 8-1 in Sunday's dual match against Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe Tiffin University.

The Lakers (4-7, 3-7 GLIAC) picked up their only point in the match in No. 6 singles to close the match. Allison Grandfield earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Andrea Alaniz of Tiffin. With the singles win, Grandfield improved her individual record to 5-5 on the season.

LSSU sophomore Jenay Andrews came close to also picking up a singles victory in the fifth slot. Andrews took Aimee Kaye to three sets before falling 3-6, 6-1, 10-8.

The Dragons (11-1, 8-1 GLIAC) swept the doubles portion to begin singles play with a 3-0 lead, and continued their winning ways throught the first five singles matches. 

LSSU concludes the GLIAC regular season next weekend with a home match against Michigan Tech at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22.
