Women's Golf Closes the First Half of the 2021-22 Season at the Panther Invitational

AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's golf team wrapped up the fall season at Davenport University's Panther Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17 at Stonehedge Golf Club North in Augusta, Mich. The Lakers finished in 11th place with a two-day combined score of 687 (332, 355).

Senior Alyshia Suleman led the Lakers with a combined score of 161 after posting a team-best score of 77 during the first round and followed with a second round score of 84. Suleman finished tied for 27th among all participants. Junior Julia Vess ranked second among her teammates with a two-day score of 165 with an 80 on the first day and an 85 in the second round. Sophomore Marie Mathieu rounded out the team's top three finishers with a two-day score of 171. Mathieu shot an 83 on the first day of competition and closed with an 88 in the second round. 

Freshmen Jesse Hellebuyck and Mati Wieland closed out the opening half of their first collegiate season with a fourth and fifth place finish on the team.
