BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's golf team participated in the Bulldog Fall Invite this weekend at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. hosted by Ferris State University. The Lakers, with a very young roster, finished in 12th place with a two-day combined score of 718 (358, 360). 

The Lakers were led by junior Julia Vess, who finished the two-day tournament with a combined score of 164 (78, 86). Alyshia Suleman, a senior on the Lakers, followed Vess with the team's second best score at the Bulldog Fall Invite. Suleman recorded a combined score of 167 (82, 85). Sophomore Marie Mathieu rounded out the Lakers top three finishers with a two-day total of 183 (95, 88). 

Jesse Hellebuyck and Mati Wieland completed the Laker squad during the team's second weekend of the fall season. It marked Wieland's first collegiate competition.

The Lakers will have a few weeks off before taking part in Tiffin University's invite on Sunday, Oct. 10 through Tuesday, Oct. 12. The tournament will be held at the Mohawk Golf & Country Club in Tiffin, Ohio.
