Lakers Look to Build on Win at Bulldog Fall Invitational

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's golf team will look to continue its early season success as they are set to compete in the Bulldog Fall Invitational hosted by Ferris State at the Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids, Mich. The Lakers will return to competition for the first time since winning the Blue Devil Classic last weekend.

Lake Superior State will be one of eight teams competing in the Bulldog Invitational, along with Ferris State, Northern Michigan, Ashland, Walsh, Saginaw Valley State, Marian and Ohio Dominican University. The course is a par 72 and measures at 5,802 yards. 

The Lakers have had a great start to the 2019-20 season with the team placing first and second overall in the two tournaments that they have participated in so far. LSSU won the Blue Devil Classic posting a two day total of 614 (308, 306). The Lakers team will consist of junior Naomi Keyte, freshman Julia Vess, junior Taylor Simoneau, junior Madison Wilkie and sophomore Alyshia Suleman

Following the Bulldog Fall Invitational, the Lakers will have a week hiatus before returning to competition. LSSU will travel to Crown Point, Ind. to take part in the Mike Lalaeff Memorial Invitational hosted by Purdue University Northeast at White Hawk Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 12 and Sunday, Oct. 13.
