BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) women's basketball team (1-11, 0-3 GLIAC) fell on the road at No. 5 Ferris State (8-2, 2-1 GLIAC) by a final score of 109-60 on Saturday.
The Bulldogs were able to strike first, but a three from reigning GLIAC Player of the Week Grace Bradford (Maple City, Mich.) helped the Lakers to a 7-0 run of their own to take a two-point lead. Ferris State was able to pull ahead, but threes from Taylor Stacy (Toledo, Ohio) and Brittany Bowman (Kingsley, Mich.) kept their team within striking distance.
The Lakers would continue to fight back in the second half. However, despite late threes from Maddie Bradford (Maple City, Mich.) and Amanda Roach (Hartland, Mich.), the Bulldogs would ultimately close out the victory.
Both Bradford sisters finished the day in double-digit scoring with Maddie also securing a game-high seven rebounds.
The Lakers will look to bounce back on Thursday, Jan. 11 when they travel to take on Upper Peninsula rival Northern Michigan with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
