Women's Basketball Falls to Saginaw Valley On The Road

SAGINAW, Mich.—The Lake Superior State women's basketball team fell to Saginaw Valley State, 64-52, Thursday evening in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference matchup.

With the loss, the Lakers fall to 0-7 overall on the season and 0-3 in GLIAC competition. The Cardinals improve 1-8, 1-2.

LSSU finished the game shooting 34.5 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range. SVSU shot 39.3 and 25 percent. The Cardinals held a, 45-34, advantage on the glass.

Sophomore guard Claire Radtke led the Lake State offense with 16 points and was 4-of-6 from behind the arc.

Lexie Kohn led the team in rebounding with a season-high seven boards on the night. Kohn and Courtney Jacobsen each tallied nine points in the loss.

Abby Duffy and Laurel Jacqmain led the way for the Saginaw Valley posting 16 points respectively. Jacqmain led the team in rebounds with eight.

The Lakers return to GLIAC action on Saturday (Dec.9) as they travel to Northwood (5-3, 2-1) for a match up with the Timberwolves at 1 p.m.

Lake Superior returns to Bud Cooper Gymnasium Dec.16 (1 p.m.) when Ferris State comes to town for a conference battle.
