Laker Women Hang Tough, Fall to Tiffin in GLIAC Action

Lakers fall to Tiffin

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.—The Lake Superior State women's basketball team women's basketball team fell to Tiffin, 76-66, Saturday in a Great Lake Intercollegiate Conference tilt inside Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

 

With the loss, the Lakers slip to 0-6 overall this season with a 0-2 mark in the GLIAC. The Dragons improve to 3-4, 1-1

 

Lake Superior shot 42.9 percent from the field in the contest and 38.1 percent from three-point range. Tiffin finished the game at 46.4 percent from the field and 50 percent from long distance. LSSU was out rebounded, 29-26, in the loss and

 

Junior guard Claire Radtke paved the way offensively with a team-high 20 points on a 7-of-12 shooting night which included a 5-of-6 performance from beyond the arc. 

 

Senior forward Tamara Novic posted 12 points to go along with a team-high seven rebounds. Jenna Gregory posted 11 point.

 

Ali Schirmer led the Dragons offense with 24 points. Cynthia Concepion finished with 12.

 

The Lakers return to GLIAC competition Dec.7 as they travel to Saginaw Valley to take on the Cardinals at 6 p.m.
