Women's Basketball Falls to Minnesota Duluth

Lakers Fall to MDU

DULUTH, Minn.—The Lake Superior State women's basketball team fell to Minnesota Duluth, 89-51, Friday evening in a non-conference matchup.

With the loss, the Lakers slip to 0-2 to open the 2017-18 campaign. The Bulldogs improve to 2-1.

Lake Superior shot 33.9 percent from the field and 25 percent from three-point range in the loss. MDU shot 50.0 percent, 58.8 percent from three and held a, 50-26, rebounding advantage.

Sophomore guard Claire Radkte and senior forward Tamara Novic led the way for the Lake State as they each totaled 10 points and four rebounds.

Sarah Grow led the Bulldogs with a double-double posting 16 points and 10 rebounds. Taylor Schneider finished with 11 points.

Lake Superior will return to action Friday (5 p.m.) as they take on non-conference Concordia-St. Paul (1-2) in the opening game of the Radison Hotel MSP North Classic. 

The Lakers are slated to finish off the classic against Augustana S.D. (3-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
