SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – The Lake Superior State University men's and women's cross country programs are set to open up the 2022 season when they travel to Big Rapids, Mich. to run at the Ray Helsing Bulldog Invitational, hosted by Ferris State at Katke Golf Course.

The women's collegiate 5,000-meter race is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m., and it will be followed by the men's collegiate 8,000-meter run at 10 a.m.

The event was renamed in 2010 in honor of former Ferris State coach Ray Helsing, who passed away in 2014, and a number of conference and regional teams will take part in the races.
