Laker Men's Tennis Fall at Ferris State

Laker Men's Tennis Fall at Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) men's tennis team (7-6, 3-3 GLIAC) fell to the Ferris State Bulldogs by a final score of 6-1 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs were able to claim victories in all three doubles matches, but the Lakers certainly made them earn it. The duo of Jordi Fraile Raton (Sant Cugat, Spain) and Driss Sedrati (Casablanca, Morocco) pushed their opponents to a 4-6 margin at the No. 2 spot, and the pairing of Raul Velasco Garcia (Barcelona, Spain) and Lluc Limongi Ollers (Mallorca, Spain) battled their way to a highly-competitive 5-7 result.

In singles play, Velasco would ultimately be the lone victory on the day for LSSU with a 6-1, 3-6, [10-6] win at the No. 6 spot, but the Lakers produced strong play across the board, leaving it all on the court against the 2024 GLIAC champions.

The Lakers will now turn their attention to the GLIAC Tournament where they will face the Purdue Northwest Pride in the opening round.
