Lakers lose at WSU

DETROIT - Lake Superior State suffered a 9-0 season-ending loss in men's tennis Saturday at Wayne State.

The Warriors (8-10 overall, 5-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) swept five of six singles matches in straight sets. WSU's Harvey Reed edged LSSU's Mateus Souza Fonai in three sets (4-6, 6-1, 10-8) at No. 5 singles, and the Warriors' Mats Westkamp won a first-set tie-breaker before beating LSSU's Jake Prime, 7-6, 6-3, at No. 1.

The Lakers finished 7-12 overall and 1-8 in the GLIAC.
