Lakers fall 7-2 at Lawrence Tech

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - Lake Superior State men's tennis opened a weekend road trip on Saturday with a 7-2 loss at Lawrence Tech.

Freshman Joseph Gilman teamed up with junior Ieuan Lister to deliver the Lakers (0-3) only victory in the doubles portion. Gilman and Lister won 8-4 in No. 2 doubles over Jan Horstkoetter and Mason Wenzel.

Gilman continued his undefeated (3-0) streak to open the season with a victory over Horstkoetter in No. 3 singles. Gilman rebounded from a 6-2 loss in the first set and stormed back with 6-3, 6-4 set victories to claim the matchup.

The Blue Devils (7-2) claimed victories in No. 1 and No. 3 doubles and took five-of-six singles matches.

The Lakers capped the weekend with a 7-2 victory on Sunday at Alma.
