Men's tennis falls 9-0 at Ferris State

BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 sweep at the hands of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference frontrunners Ferris State  on Saturday at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids, Mich.

The No. 36 ranked Bulldogs (14-4, 4-0 GLIAC) swept the doubles portion, highlighted by a No. 2 doubles victory from Till von Winning and Daniil Tarantinov over LSSU's Jake Prime and Luis Valderrama. Prime and Valderrama had won nine straight matches in the No. 2 slot coming into Saturday's matchup but saw their unbeaten streak come to an end.

FSU also swept the singles portion, three of which ended with 6-0, 6-0 scores. The closest singles match came in the No. 3 slot with Ieuan Lister falling 6-1, 6-3.

The Lakers are now tied for eighth place in the GLIAC with Findlay and Hillsdale with a 1-4 conference record this season. LSSU caps the weekend road trip by facing Grand Valley State at 10 a.m. start on Sunday.
