DEEPHAVEN, Minn. - Evan Bushy (Thief River Falls, Minn.) has been named the CCHA Defenseman and Rookie of the Week after recording two points in the Lakers' weekend sweep over the Northern Michigan Wildcats to help bring the Cappo Cup back to Sault Ste. Marie. 

On Friday, Bushy picked up an assist on a goal by Carter Batchelder (Savage, Minn.) after pushing the puck ahead to Joshua Wildauer (Dearborn Heights, Mich.) for a two-on-one fast break opportunity that tied the game up at 1-1 16 seconds into the second period, and he would go on to help set up Connor Milburn's (Kamloops, B.C.) insurance goal the following night for the second multi-point weekend of his young career. 

Bushy finished the weekend +2 and he also stood in the way of multiple Wildcat attackers for a pair of blocks as well.

Bushy and the Lakers return to action on Friday, Jan. 19 when they take on the Ferris State Bulldogs with puck drop scheduled for 7:07 p.m.
