DEEPHAVEN, Minn. - Timo Bakos (Augsburg, Germany) and Cam Kungle (Red Deer, Alta.) have been named the CCHA Forward of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, after Bakos recorded four points and Kungle scored the first goal of his career in the Lakers' 5-1 victory at Ferris State on Saturday.
Bakos assisted on four of the Lakers' five goals on the night for the first four-point night by any Laker since Louis Boudon had four assists against Union on Oct. 22, 2021 and the first four-point night on the road for LSSU since Brayden Gelsinger notched four points at Alaska Fairbanks on Dec. 8, 2018. He finished the night with a +2 +/- rating and blocked two shots as well.
Kungle has received the first weekly honors of his career after scoring his first career goal to tie up the score at 1-1 in the second period on Saturday. He would then go on to fire another puck toward the net that Connor Milburn (Kamloops, B.C.) deflected in for two points on the night. The defenseman would also go on to finish the night with a +2 rating and two blocks to help take pressure off of his goaltender.
Kungle, Bakos, and the Lakers return to action on Friday, Dec. 29 when they face Dartmouth for their first of two games at the Ledyard Classic with puck drop scheduled for 7:30 p.m. following the completion of the contest between Maine and RIT.
