Laker Hockey Welcomes Luke Levandowski

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) hockey program welcomes Luke Levandowski to the team as part of the 2023 recruiting class.

Levandowski, a native of Rosemount, Minn., has boasted a strong hockey career, even dating back to his days at the high school level in Minnesota where he led Rosemount High School in points (41) and goals (22) in 21 games during his senior year in 2020-21.

He would then move on to the junior hockey ranks, debuting for the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League (USHL) who had previously selected him 20th overall in the USHL Entry Draft. Levandowski would go on to appear in 19 games for the Steel in 2021-22.

After his stint in Chicago as well as three games between the Sioux Falls Stampede and Youngstown Phantoms, Levandowski found his way to the Wisconsin Wendigo of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) where he really began to find his groove, averaging a point per game during the 2022-23 regular season, helping to earn him a selection to the 2023 NAHL Top Prospects Midwest Team.

"He's dynamic," said Wisconsin Wendigo head coach Blake Hietala in an April 2023 article by The Rink Live's Jordan McAlpine. "His skating and his stick in traffic are next-level when it comes to players in our league, and he's shown that on a pretty consistent basis."

Levandowski and the Lakers are set to kick off the 2023-24 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Michigan State.
