Laker Hockey Welcomes Cam Kungle

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) hockey program welcomes Cam Kungle to the team as part of the 2023 recruiting class.

Kungle competed for the Cranbrook Bucks of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) for the previous three seasons, and he was able to impress early, earning the right to have an 'A' on his jersey as a BCHL rookie.

During his second season with the organization, his efforts resulted in him being recognized with the team's Coaches Award after notching (17 points (5G, 12A) from the back line. In his third and final season with Cranbrook where he would take his game to another level with 32 points (10G, 22A), which was tied for 15th among all BCHL defensemen. He would also go on to be named his team's Defenseman of the Year in 2023.

"You want to go somewhere that's a good fit for you," said Kungle on the Two Goal Lead Podcast presented by the BCHL Network about LSSU. "I think I will have the best opportunity going there for years to come. It was just a good fit."

Kungle and the Lakers are set to kick off the 2023-24 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Michigan State.
