MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Lake Superior State University hockey program has been slated sixth in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) with 45 points, as voted on by the coaches. In addition, Louis Boudon (Grenoble, France) and Jacob Bengtsson (Stockholm, Sweden) have both been named to the 2022 CCHA All-Preseason Team, as announced by the conference on Monday.
The team will be looking to improve upon last year's 18-18-1 overall record that concluded with a thrilling three-game series in the 2022 CCHA Mason Cup Playoffs, and they are currently receiving votes in the Preseason USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll.
Boudon, who was recently named as the fourth multi-year captain in program history, is coming off of a 44-point season (15G; 29A) while leading his team in every offensive statistical category which resulted in being named to the All-CCHA Second Team.
Bengtsson also saw his 2021-22 season result in being named to the All-CCHA Second Team after totaling three goals and 24 assists as a defenseman. As a result of his work ethic and improvement over his career, he was recently named as an alternate captain for the upcoming season.
