No. 18 Lakers to Match Up Against Bemidji State in WCHA Semifinals

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The No. 18 Lake Superior State hockey team will faceoff against the Bemidji State Beavers in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Semifinals on Friday, March 19 in Mankato, Minn. at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems Event Center at 8:37 p.m. EST. The winner will advance to the Championship game on Saturday, March 20 at 8:07 p.m. EST.

The top two tournament seeds - No. 1 Minnesota State and No. 2 Lake Superior State – will be joined in Mankato by No. 4 seed Bemidji State and No. 6 seed Northern Michigan. 

The winner of the 2021 WCHA Championship receives the league's automatic bid into the NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Championship.

The WCHA Championship schedule is as follows:

Semifinal 1: No. 6 Northern Michigan vs. No. 1 Minnesota State- 3:07 p.m. EST

Semifinal 2: No. 4 Bemidji State vs. No. 2 Lake Superior State- 8:37 p.m. EST 

All three contests will stream live on FloHockey.tv. 

Jeff Sauer WCHA Championship Trophy, presented by Anderson's Pure Maple Syrup

The winner of the 2021 WCHA Postseason tournament will once again receive the Jeff Sauer WCHA Championship Trophy, presented by Anderson's Pure Maple Syrup.
