Laker Hockey Game on Jan. 25 will be Unsung Hero Night, Recognizing War Memorial Hospital Staff

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State athletic department and War Memorial Hospital will co-host an Unsung Hero Night at the Saturday, Feb. 25 hockey game against Alaska Anchorage at 7:00 p.m. at the Taffy Abel Arena. 

The event will honor the hard work and dedication of the Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Registered Nurses (RN) and Medical Assistants (MA) who are employed by War Memorial Hospital. Laker athletics will hold a special on-ice ceremony to honor these community members during the second intermission of the game.

War Memorial Hospital is a proud partner of Laker athletics and has served the communities in and around Sault Ste. Marie for more than 100 years. WMH employs more than 900 individuals who have committed themselves to patient-focused care. This not-for-profit hospital is home to a 50-bed acute care hospital, a 51-bed Long Term Care unit, a brand-new Emergency Department, a 30,000-square foot Rehabilitation Center, 3D Mammography equipment and several satellite clinics located throughout the Eastern Upper Peninsula.
