Perkins Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Kingsley Perkins (Ypsilanti, Mich.) has been named the GLIAC Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Perkins came away with five steals, including tying his career-high with three in LSSU's 78-65 victory over Northwood on Saturday, and he rejected a pair of shots in both games on the week. Meanwhile, Perkins was able to secure 19 rebounds, while also scoring 26 points to help lead the Lakers to a 2-0 start to the season.

Perkins and the Lakers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 18 when they travel to face the Indianapolis Greyhounds with tipoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
