Preview: Laker Men's Basketball Set for GLIAC Road Tests Against Purdue Northwest and Wisconsin-Parkside

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's basketball program (8-11, 7-4 GLIAC) is set to travel to face the Purdue Northwest Pride and the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers on Thursday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 4 for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games.  

The Pride are currently holding a record of 11-10 (4-7 GLIAC) with Mikell Cooper leading the way offensively with 16.0 points per game. The Lakers earned a 65-63 victory in the previous meeting between the two programs, and they will be looking to sweep the season series in Hammond, Ind. 

The Rangers currently hold a record of 15-6 (8-3 GLIAC). They are led offensively by Rasheed Bello scoring an average of 18.5 points per game to pace a balanced offense. The Rangers came away victorious in the Soo earlier this season by a score of 78-64 after shooting over 60 percent from beyond the arc, and the Lakers will be looking to claw their way back up the standings with a win in Kenosha, Wis. Parkside will host the Ferris State Bulldogs on Thursday to break the tie at the top of the GLIAC Standings prior to their Saturday matchup against the Lakers.
