Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.- The Lake Superior State men's basketball team will be traveling to participate in the Westminster Classic hosted by Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah. The Lakers will face the Dixie State Trailblazers at 5:30 p.m. MST on Friday, Nov. 22 and tournament host, Westminster College on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m. MST.

Westminster Classic Tournament- Salt Lake City, Utah

The four teams set to participate in this tournament are Alaska Fairbanks, Dixie State, Westminster, and the Lakers. Together, the teams have a combined record of 9-5 which should lead to a competitive slate of games. The Lakers will face Dixie State and Westminster. 

Lake Superior State Lakers (1-2)

The Lakers are shooting 42.2% from the field this season as they prepare to travel to the Westminster Classic. The Lakers are also averaging 10 assists per game, 32 rebounds per game and 27.2% from the free throw line. Leading the Lakers in scoring this season is senior forward Ke'Montrece Collins and sophomore guard Justin Fischer who both average 13.7 points per game. Sophomore CJ Robinson has also been a steady contributor for the Lakers as he leads the team in minutes per game and has averaged 13 points per game. Leading the lakers in rebounds is Collins who averages 5.7 a game. 

Dixie State - St. George, Utah (3-0)

The Dixie State Trailblazers are currently undefeated in regular season play this year. The Traiblazers average 48.5% from the field, 25.9% from three, and 61.9% from the free throw line. Dixie State rebounds very well; averaging 43 rebounds a game. Dixie State is led by #44 Hunter Schofield who is averaging 20 points and 8.3 rebounds a game. The Trailblazers are coached by the 16 year veteran Jon Judkins. 

Westminster College- Salt Lake City, Utah (4-0)

The Griffins are undefeated through the first four games in the regular season. Westminster has averaged 79 points a game largely due to their 49% field goal percentage. The Griffins shoot 45% from the arc and 65% from the charity stripe while also averaging 35.8 rebounds a game. Westminster is led by fifth year Head Coach Norm Parish.
