SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.—Same location; different stage.

Less than a week removed from a second-place finish in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic championship game to Ferris State on their home court, the Lake Superior State men's basketball team will head back to FSU's Jim Wink Arena this weekend for the NCAA Midwest Regional.

The No.4-seeded Lakers are set for a quarterfinal tilt with No.5-seeded Hillsdale Saturday evening at 8:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT:
Lake State enter Saturday's tilt on the heels of 69-61 loss to Ferris in the GLIAC title game.

Hillsdale is also coming off a conference championship loss falling to Ohio-Dominican, 71-53, in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference final.

OLD RIVALS:
The Lakers are no strangers to the Chargers having shared the same conference up until this year. Hillsdale was a member of the GLIAC since 1974.

MATCHUP BY THE NUMBERS:
LSSU comes in averaging 79.8 points per game, which ranks No.2 in the GLIAC, and are also No.2 on the defensive end at 69.2.

Hillsdale is averaging 71.4 point per contest and lead the G-MAC defensively allowing just 65.4 points per contest.

LSSU LEADERS:
Senior guard Akaemji Williams paces the team in scoring and ranks No.3 in the conference averaging 18.9 points per game. Williams leads the league and ranks No.7 nationally in ball handling with 7.0 assists per contest.



Michael Nicholson, a senior forward, leads the GLIAC and ranks No.13 nationally in offensive efficiency with a 61.6 field goal percentage on the year. Nicholson is averaging 11.0 points per game and leads the team on the glass with 7.1 boards per game.

Blake Marquardt has been the team's best sharpshooter this season with a 50.3 percent clip from behind the arc which ranks No.3 in the nation.

CHARGER LEADERS:
Senior guard Stedman Lowry paces the Hillsdale offense averaging 14.1 points per contest. Ryan Badowski is second with 13.5 per game.

Junior center Nick Czarnowski leads the team on the glass bring down 6.1 boards per game to go along with 12.4 points per game.

TOURNAMENT OUTLOOK:
A win on Saturday would advance the Lakers to Sunday's Semifinal round where they would face the winner of No.1-Ferris State Vs No.8 Ohio Dominican on Sunday (7 p.m.)
A potential final game would take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
