BAY CITY, Mich.— Lake Superior State's Akaemji Williams has been named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Williams, a senior guard, guided the Lakers to a 2-0 week to close out the regular season with a pair of victories over Grand Valley State and Purdue Northwest to enter the GLIAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed.

Akaemji averaged 24.0 points, 8.5 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 4.0 steals per contest last week while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 84.6 percent from the foul line. Williams posted his seventh double-double of the season on Saturday (Feb. 24) as he tallied 26 points and 11 assists in the win over PNW.

The Lakers will host No.7 Grand Valley on Wednesday (Feb.28) in the GLIAC Quarterfinal round set for 7 p.m. inside the Bud Cooper Gymnasium. Tickets are available at the Norris Center Ticket Office or online at lssulakers.com/tickets
