SAULT STE. MARIE -  Lake Superior State sophomore guard Carson Manger netted a career-high 31 points to lead all scorers and pace the Lakers to a 102-93 victory over Tiffin in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday.

Manger hit 11-of-14 shots from the field, including an impressive 7-for-8 from behind the arc.

The Lakers (3-2, 1-1 GLIAC) raced out to a 55-30 lead at halftime after knocking down 11-of-17 three-pointers in the opening 20 minutes and holding Tiffin to a 1-14 mark from deep. The Dragons (3-5, 0-2 GLIAC) also committed 12 of their 20 total turnovers during the first frame.

In the second half Tiffin brought the game closer with steady shooting and rebounding on their missed opportunities. In fact, the Dragons compiled 13 offensive rebounds in the second half and scored 20 second-chance points.

Austin Adams was a major factor in the second half turnaround for the Dragons, picking up eight of his 11 offensive rebounds and poured in 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field while playing the entire half. Adams finished with a team-high 26 points and 19 rebounds off the bench.

Junior guard Akaemji Williams nearly racked up the first triple-double of his career, posting 12 points, 13 assists and came away with eight steals. The Pontiac native now sits at 980 career points.

Freshman Malek Adams scored 18 points and junior guard Josh Goldschmidt netted 11 points and four assists to round out LSSU players reaching double-digits and leading the Lakers off the bench.

The Lakers next travel to Findlay for a 3 p.m. GLIAC showdown on Saturday, Dec. 10.
