Fleming Wins Again as Lakers Compete at Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University track and field program competed at the Don Kleinow Memorial Invitational, hosted by Siena Heights, on Friday. The Lakers combined for 11 new personal records and nine top-ten placements on the day.

Junior thrower Jenna Fleming (Hilton Beach, Ont.) came away with yet another first place finish in the javelin throw with a distance of 42.75m for another NCAA Division II provisional mark.

Andrew Giddens (Cadillac, Mich.) ran for a seventh place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.56), and he would then go on to anchor a pair of top-ten placements in both the 4x100 and 4x400-meter relays.

Skylar Williams (Battle Creek, Mich.) finished in seventh place in the 3000-meter steeplechase (10:47.77).

Avery Timm (Petosky, Mich.) leapt for a personal best in the triple jump (12.27m) to place sixth.

True freshman Trey Nieman (Morenci, Mich.) would set a pair of new personal records in both the hammer (44.06m) and javelin throws (37.21m) to finish in ninth and 12th, respectively.

Both Janelle Docter (Howard City, Mich.) (40.34m) and Maddi Gould (Sanford, Mich.) (30.70m) each threw for new personal bests in the hammer throw with Docter notching a tenth place finish, and Paige Johnson (Eckerman, Mich.) earned a new personal record in the javelin throw (25.37m).

The Lakers return to action on Friday, April 28 when they travel for the Davenport Tune-Up.
