Laker Athletics Hosts Stand UP Tailgate

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. -- Lake Superior State University, in conjunction with the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the LSSU Title IX office, will host a Stand UP tailgate before the LSSU volleyball game on Friday at 6:30 p.m. against Northwood.

The tailgate is kicks off at 5:30 p.m. in the Norris Center parking lot and is complete with free food for students, free shirts and raffle prizes. Resource booths for both the Stand UP Campaign and the Diane Peppler Resource Center will be set up to raise awareness for both causes.

The Stand UP Campaign is a collaborate effort between Lake Superior State University's Title IX Office and Sault Sainte Marie's Diane Peppler Resource Center.

This campaign focuses on sexual assault prevention and active bystander/up stander invention. This multi-faceted campaign includes a series of on-campus sexual violence awareness events, an educational video series, student focus groups, on-campus training opportunities for students, faculty, and staff, and multiple community outreach events.
