Opened: October 28, 1995

Capacity: 4,000

Ice Surface: 200' by 85'

Largest Home Crowd: 4,218 (October 12, 1996 vs Michigan)

Named after the late Clarence "Taffy" Abel.

BUD COOPER GYMNASIUM

Built: 1976

Capacity: 2,500

Hardwood Floor installed in August, 1999

Named after legendary Athletic Director Ronald "Bud" Cooper.

ARBUCKLE STUDENT ACTIVITY CENTER

Built: 2000

Features: Six lane/200-meter track, four basketball courts, and a fitness center.

Named for ex-LSSU president Dr. Robert Arbuckle.

DIRECTIONS

To get to the Norris Center, SAC and Taffy Abel Arena, use exit 394 off of I-75 (north or south). Coming from the south, turn right onto Easterday Avenue and turn right at the first light (Meridian). The facilities will be on your right. Approaching from the north, turn oeft onto Easterday Avenue and turn right at the first light (Meridian). Once again, the facilities will be on your right.
To get to Locey Field (softball), follow the same directions to the Norris Center from exit 394. Keep going south on Meridian until you reach the ball field complex. Follow Meridian to the back of the complex and turn left on 12th Avenue. The field will be on your left. When coming from the I-75 Business Spur, 12th Avenue is the light near Dairy Queen.
