Laker Men's Tennis Face Setback at GVSU

ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) men's tennis team (7-5, 3-2 GLIAC) fell to the Grand Valley State (GVSU) Lakers (11-6, 3-2 GLIAC) by a final score of 7-0.

GVSU got off to the early 1-0 lead after doubles play, but the pairing of Lluc Limongi Ollers (Mallorca, Spain) and Raul Velasco Garcia (Barcelona, Spain) were still able to put up a strong showing, taking three games in the set.

Grand Valley continued to push ahead, despite the best efforts from LSSU, ultimately taking all six singles matches. However, Stefan Andrei (Galati, Romania) produced a valiant effort in the loss, pushing his opponent to the brink after taking the opening set 7-5, but his opponent was able to narrowly escape by a margin of three points in a 10-7 super-tiebreaker.

LSSU will look to bounce back when they conclude the regular season at Ferris State on Saturday, April 20 with the first serve scheduled for 2 p.m.
