LSSU Athletics dedicates itself to providing a first-class athletics program while enhancing the personal development of our student-athletes through the lessons learned in athletic competition; commitment to teamwork, competing with honor, persevering through adversity, and service to community. Each is a foundational piece in preparing our student-athletes for a successful personal and professional life after graduation. Laker athletics will serve as a source of entertainment, spirit, and pride to unite our students, campus, alumni, and local community in creating, promoting, and sustaining our athletic and university mission and traditions.
LSSU Athletics Philosophy Statement
LSSU Athletics strives to provide an environment that enriches all aspects of the collegiate experience while supporting the university’s values.
Laker Athletics is committed to the following:
- Providing experiences for personal growth in a structured and diverse team setting.
- Supporting our student-athletes to excel in the classroom.
- Building quality coaching staffs, support staff, and departmental leadership to anchor the mission of Laker Athletics and align with the values of Lake Superior State University.
- Recruiting and identifying quality student-athletes to represent Lake Superior State University with the highest integrity, on the field of competition.
