INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lake Superior State men's tennis team competed at the ITA Division II Men's Midwest Regional Tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. this past weekend.

Singles

In the flight A bracket, Aaron Osmond (Cheltenham, U.K.) rebounded from an opening round loss for a 6-4, 6-4 victory over McKendree's Ebisu. However, most of the action for LSSU would be found in flight B in which Jordi Fraile Raton (Sant Cugat del Valles, Spain) proved to be the highlight with a 6-2, 3-6, [10-8] win over the fifth-seeded Ignacio Morera Lucas from Grand Valley. While no other Lakers were able to come out on top in the main draw, Lezan Koyuncu (Cologne, Germany) and Maxence Hamon (Canada) were able to both find success in the consolation bracket with Hamon making his way to the quarterfinals with victories over Quincy's Mateos Neilla and Rydell of Illinois, Springfield before his strong run came to an end.

Doubles

In doubles, the pair of Logan Brown (Bay City, Mich.) and Xavier Vicent Navarro (Cocentaina, Spain) were able to find the most success for the Lakers. The duo came away with an 8-4 win over GLIAC opponents Thomas Schultz and Paul Hawes of Purdue Northwest, and they followed that up with an 8-5 victory over the second-seeded team of Oliwer Wierzbicki and Grant Miller of Lewis in the flight C bracket. However, their run would come to an end in the semifinals on Sunday morning.

The Lakers return to action on Friday, Oct. 7 when they travel to Hammond, Ind. for the Purdue Northwest Invitational.
