Laker Golf Programs Claim 9th Place Results at Davenport Panther Invite

AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's and women's golf programs each finished their respective fall seasons with a 9th place result at the Davenport Panther Invitational.

 

Men

Callum McKay (Calgary, Alb.) paced the men's team, shooting ten strokes over par for a 24th place finish on the individual leaderboard. Marko Banic (Calgary, Alb.) would be right behind him with a two-day total of 154, and Alex Bratton (Yorktown, Ind.) improved by two strokes on the second day of the invitational for a combined score of 156. Gabe Rathburn (Portage, Mich.) and Braden Falk (Portage, Mich.) rounded out the lineup with respective scores of 166 and 169. Meanwhile, Charles Johnson (Green Bay, Wis.) and Collin Pajot (Brighton, Mich.), who were competing as individuals, earned two-day totals of 168 and 171, respectively.

 

Women

Freshman Lekisha Sasitharan (Shah Alam, Malaysia) once again paced the women's team, shooting 14 strokes over par for a two-day total of 158 and an 18th place finish individually. Jesse Hellebuyck (Almont, Mich.) and Julia Vess (New Hudson, Mich.) would then finish within two strokes of each other with respective scores of 170 and 172, and Marie Mattieu (Marshall, Mich.) finished right behind her teammates with a combined score of 173 after improving by 13 strokes on the second day of the invitational.
