Men's Golf Competes at ODU's Bill Blazer Memorial Tournament

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's golf team competed at Ohio Dominican University's Bill Blazer Memorial Tournament at the Urbana Country Club in Urbana, Ohio on Saturday, April 9 and Sunday, April 10. 

The men's team combined for a two-day total of 637 to finish 14th among the 16 participating teams. On the opening day of competition, the Laker men's squad recorded a score of 322 and followed with a combined score of 315 on Saturday. 

Junior Callum McKay led the Lakers with a two-day total of 153 after recording a 76 on the first day of the tournament and following with a score of 77. Freshman Marko Banic followed McKay as he posted a combined score of 154 (80-74). Banic's score of 74 on Sunday marked the lowest score by any Laker at the Bill Blazer Memorial. 

Freshmen Gabe Rathburn, Alex Bratton and Grant Baker rounded out the Laker team at the ODU hosted tournament. Rathburn combined for a two-day total of 167 (82-85). Bratton followed with a combined score of 168 (89-79) and Baker completed the Laker lineup with a total of 170 (84-86). 

The Lakers will close out the 2022 season next weekend at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships on Friday, April 15, Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17. The conference championship will be held at the Lake Golf Resort in Augusta, Mich.
