Laker Men's Golf Wraps Up Fall Season at the Panther Invitational

AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Lake Superior State men's golf team competed in Davenport University's Panther Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 16 and Sunday, Oct. 17 at Stoatin Brae Golf Club in Augusta, Mich. The Lakers finished the two-day tournament in eighth place with a combined score of 625 after posting a 314 first round score and a 311 second round score. 

Junior Callum McKay and freshman Marko Banic were tied for first among the Lakers at the Panther Invitational with identical two-day scores of 78 and 77. McKay and Banic were tied for 31st among all competitors with a total score of 155. Freshman Grant Baker rounded out the top three Laker finishers with a score of 160 after posting an 85 in the opening round and a team-low score of 75 in the second round of competition. 

Senior Zander Park had a strong first round for the Lakers, with a team-low score of 75 on the first day of play and closed with an 86 on Sunday to record a combined score of 161. Alex Bratton completed the Laker roster at the Panther Invitational with a combined score of 165 (83, 82). 

Freshmen Gabe Rathburn and Andrew Langford competed as individuals at the Panther Invitational. Rathburn posted a two-day total of 163 (79, 84) while Langford totaled a combined score of 172 (82, 90).
