Lakers Fall in First Match of GLIAC Tournament

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Lake Superior State women's tennis team traveled to Midland, Michigan to compete in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament. In the first round, they faced Upper Peninsula rival, the Michigan Tech Huskies. The Lakers fell to the Huskies 4-0.

In doubles, Tara Harvey and Nadege Koua lost at No. 1, 6-2. At No. 3, Allison Grandfield and Jenay Andrews lost 6-1.

In singles play, AlexiAnn Drouin lost at No. 1, 6-2, 6-3. Koua at No. 2 lost 6-4, 6-0, and finishing round 1 was Keegan Malpass, who lost 6-2, 6-4.

The Lakers will face the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals at 3:45 pm in round two tomorrow (Oct. 27).
