Golf Teams Compete at 2019 GLIAC Championships

AUGUSTA, Mich. — The Lake Superior State men's and women's golf teams competed at the 2019 GLIAC Championships on Friday and Saturday at Gull Lake Golf Cub and Resort. 

The women's team finished 7th out of 10 teams at the championships while the men's team came in 11th place.

The Laker women were led by sophomore Naomi Keyte, who tied for 20th place with a two-round score of 163 (81, 82). One stroke behind Keyte was senior Tatiana Hulan, who finished in 23rd with a score of 164 (85, 79). Sophomore Madison Wilkie tied for 24th place with a score of 165 (83, 82), sophomore Taylor Simoneau finished tied for 31st with a score of 166 (84, 82) and Alyshia Suleman shot 174 (88, 86) to finish in 39th place. 

The Lake Superior State men's team was paced by sophomore Nick Oosterhof, who carded a two-round total of 160 (77, 83) to tie for 39th place. Sophomore Ryan Page scored 161 (83, 78) to finish Tied for 46th, senior Gavin MacIver tied for 48th place with a championship total of 162 (81, 81), sophomore Isaac Lennox shot 169 (85, 84) to place 53rd and senior Connor Kintz finished 54th with a scored of 170 (86, 84).

On the women's side of the championships, Grand Valley State (First Place), Davenport (second), Northwood (third) and Wayne State (fourth) advanced to Sunday's medal round. On the men's side, Ashland (first place), Grand Valley State (second), Ferris State (third) and Wayne State (fourth) advanced to the medal round.
