Laker Women's Basketball Set to Open Their Season Hosting Findlay and Northwood

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University women's basketball program (0-0) is set to open their season on Friday when they host the Findlay Oilers (0-0) before taking on the Northwood Timberwolves (0-0) the following day in Bud Cooper Gymnasium as part of the G-MAC/GLIAC Crossover.

The Oilers were selected to finish eleventh in the G-MAC preseason poll, and they are coming off of a 7-21 season from a year ago. However, Findlay was able to come away with a victory over the Lakers by a score of 78-70 in the first game of last season. However, both teams enter this game with very different looking teams with half of each team being new faces.

The Timberwolves were projected to finish fourth in the G-MAC preseason poll and they return Second Team All-G-MAC performer Makenzie Todd who averaged just over 15 points per contest last season. Northwood narrowly defeated the Lakers in the second game of the season last year by a final score of 73-68, but in that game, reigning GLIAC Freshman of the Year Grace Bradford (Maple City, Mich.) was able to record the first double-double of her career with 13 points and ten rebounds.
