Women’s Basketball to Host Parkside and Purdue Northwest

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. – Lake Superior State women's basketball hosts Parkside and Purdue Northwest for a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games this week.

Lake Superior State (5-10, 0-8 GLIAC) hosts Parkside (5-9, 3-5 GLIAC) at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and Purdue Northwest (2-12, 0-8 GLIAC) at 1 p.m. on Saturday inside Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

The game will be broadcast on https://portal.stretchinternet.com/lssu/ and the radio broadcast is on ESPN 1400.

Last Time on the Court

Last week, the Lakers fell to GLIAC opponent Michigan Tech on the road by a score of 67-40 on Saturday.

Junior forward Lexie Khon led the Lakers in points with 17. Redshirt freshman guard Sadie DeWildt led LSSU in assists with three and junior guard Claire Radtke notched a team-high nine rebounds.

Lake Superior State is averaging 59.1 points per game, while the opposition is scoring 71.7 points per game. LSSU is shooting 37.7 percent from the field, including 31.5 percent from three-point range, while opponents are shooting 44.6 overall and 35.7 percent from behind the three-point arc. Scouting Parkside

Parkside (5-9, 3-5 GLIAC) is entering Thursday's game against the Lakers after a 73-68 victory against Wayne State on Saturday.

The Rangers are scoring 64.4 points per game, while allowing 72.5 points. Parkside is shooting 35.9 percent on the season and 27.7 percent on three-point shots, while their opponents are shooting 44.5 percent, including 36.0 percent from behind the arc.

Ali Bettencourt leads the Rangers in points per game (13.6). Georgie Eishold has the team lead in rebounds per game (4.7).

Scouting Purdue Northwest

Purdue Northwest (2-12, 0-8 GLIAC) is currently on a nine-game losing streak, most recently falling to No. 7 Ashland 112-68. They visit Ferris State on Thursday ahead of Saturday's matchup against the Lakers.

The Pride have a scoring average of 58.6 points per game and allow 77.9 points per game. They have a shooting percentage of 34.3, including 28.4 on three-point shots. Their opponents shoot 43.3 from the field, including 32.8 from behind the three-point arc.

Danielle Nenning leads the pride in scoring with 10.9 points per game. Molly DeValkenaere has the team lead in rebounds with 6.6.
