Laker Hockey Face Setback Against Augustana

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State (LSSU) Lakers (13-17-1, 9-11-1 CCHA) fell to the Augustana Vikings (11-17-3) by a final score of 3-0 on Saturday.

The Vikings were able to find the back of the net midway through the opening period with a goal from Will Howard, but the game would prove to be a defensive struggle for both teams for a majority of the contest.

Both teams battled for most of the game with neither side able to score throughout the second period and a majority of the third. However, the Vikings were able to tack on one more inside the final two minutes and ice the game away with an empty-netter.

The Lakers return to action on Friday, Feb. 23 when they travel to face the Minnesota State Mavericks for their final road series of the regular season with puck drop for game one scheduled for 8:07 p.m.
