Lakers Edged by Davenport in Three Sets

SAULT STE MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State volleyball team was edged by Davenport University in a three set match on Saturday, Oct. 26 in the Bud Cooper Gymnasium. 

First Set: Panthers won 25-18

Second Set: Panthers won 25-14

Third Set: Panthers won 26-24

The Lakers offense was evenly distributed with senior Amanda Reid (seven kills), junior Sarah Bailey (six kills), sophomore Camdyn Odykirk (six kills) and sophomore Bethany Wilson (five kills) all contributing. With 20 assists in the match, sophomore Halle Grulke led the Lakers in the category. 

Reid also led the team defensively as she posted a Laker-high 13 digs. Abby Beachnau, the Lakers libero, notched 11 digs against the Panthers while freshman defensive specialist Sydney Briney tallied nine digs.
