Lakers Host Saginaw for a Tuesday Night Match

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University women's volleyball team is set to face-off against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) match on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Bud Cooper Gymnasium. After splitting a road series against Northern Michigan and Michigan Tech, the Lakers hold a 4-8 overall record and a 1-3 GLIAC record.

Preview:

On Friday, the Lakers recorded their first GLIAC win of the season, with a 3-1 win over Northern Michigan on the road. The Lakers will look to add to their win total this season and add their first home victory with a win tomorrow against the Cardinals. Lake State has already surpassed last season's road win total as the team did not register a win in a road game during the 2018 season. Additionally, the Lakers can tie their season win total as well as their conference win total from last season with a win on Tuesday against Saginaw Valley. The Cardinals are fourth in the GLIAC North Division standings heading into tomorrow's meeting, as they are 2-2 in conference play so far and 8-4 overall through the first dozen games of the season.
