Women’s Tennis to Play Last Two Home Matches

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich.- The Lake Superior State women's tennis team is ready to wrap up the fall season this weekend at home against two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponents. On Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10:00 a.m. the Lakers will compete against Davenport University. The following day, Sunday, Oct. 20 at 10:00 a.m., the tennis team will play their last regular season home match as they face Purdue Northwest University. Both matches will be held in Arbuckle Student Activity Center and are free to attend.

The Lakers have an overall record of 2-5 and have won both of their matches at home this season. Even though the lineup has been impacted by a number of injuries, the Lakers are still stiff competition for anyone in their conference. Davenport's record in the fall season is 1-7 while Purdue Northwest has an overall record of 2-7.

If the Lakers win one of their two matches this weekend, they will qualify for the GLIAC tournament. For more on the Lakers and information on their potential postseason berth, visit lssulakers.com or follow Laker tennis on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
