Jason Kerr

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - The Lake Superior State University men's golf team will be teeing it up on Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29 when they participate in the HawksHead Invitational hosted by Wayne State University in South Haven Mich. This two day tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. on both days with a shotgun start. The invitational will be a 36-hole event with 18 holes each day.

Preview

After a two week break from any scheduled competition, the Laker men's golf team will look to gain some momentum following their fourth place finish at the GLIAC North Invitational hosted by Ferris State in Big Rapids, Mich. HawksHead golf course is a links style course with sloping greens that will favor the wedge game from Laker golf. The course will be a par 72 and plays 6,950 yards off the tee to make it one of the longest courses the Lakers will play this season.

The Lakers will look to juniors Isaac Lennox (151)  and Nick Oosterhof (152) to lead the team at this tournament. Both players finished in the top 20 at the GLIAC North Invitational and will look to continue this success. Freshman Callum McKay will also look to build off of his score of 152 in Big Rapids. Junior Ryan Page (154) and freshman Jace Carlisle (159) also look forward to competing.
