Ke'Montrece Collins Named to All-GLIAC First Team

SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. - Ke'Montrece Collins has been named to the 2019-20 All-GLIAC First Team, as announced by conference officials on Friday, March 6. 

Collins, a senior forward from Toledo, Ohio, earned All-GLIAC First Team honors for the first time in his career after averaging a team-best 14.9 points per game this season, and an average of 15.2 points per game in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play. Collins led the Lakers in rebounds as he averaged 7.1 per game which included 5.6 defensive rebounds. In his senior season, Collins shot 42.3 percent from the field, 38.4 percent on three-pointers and 74.5 percent from the free throw line. 

The criminal justice major posted 15 games with 15 or more points, and six games where he surpassed the 20 point mark this season. In addition, Collins recorded 10 or more rebounds in a game on six occasions this season. Collins scored a career-high 29 points in the Dec. 5 game against Ashland University, who was ranked No. 10 nationally at the time, to lead the Lakers to a 99-69 win over the Eagles. 

In the team's win on Dec. 7 over Wayne State, Collins registered a season-high 15 rebounds in the game as well as 20 points to lead the Lakers to a 67-63 conference win. The senior forward also had an impressive performance against the No. 11 Ferris State Bulldogs on Dec. 14 as he posted 23 points and 13 rebounds.

Collins was named GLIAC North Division Player of the Week twice this season (Dec. 9 and Feb. 3). Collins was also named to the 2019-20 GLIAC North Division Preseason All-Conference Team as one of five players from the North Division teams.
